Before the playlists are sorted and the snacks are packed, it’s worth checking you’re across the road rules that catch SA drivers out most often.
Easter in SA usually means road trips – but it’s also one of the riskiest times on our roads.
South Australia Police (SAPOL) say long weekends consistently bring higher traffic, longer travel distances and more serious crashes, especially on regional roads.
This year we have already seen 26 deaths and 219 serious injuries on our roads.
Speaking after recent road losses, SAPOL Traffic Services Branch Inspector Mark Atkinson says the impact goes far beyond the statistics.
“These are not just numbers,” he says. “As we move towards the Easter period, there are going to be empty seats now at the dinner table.”
So before you head off, here’s a quick way to check how well you actually know the rules.
