From global music icons and beachside concerts to country shows, food festivals and high-speed thrills, March is stacked with reasons to get out and about across South Australia.
March is a busy month in South Australia. While the Adelaide Fringe and Adelaide Festival continue on from February, there are also plenty of other events ready to pique your interest.

WOMADelaide
6-9 March
Celebrate the awesomeness of cultural diversity as this global festival returns to Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla for another year, boasting more than 700 artists from over 30 countries. Jamaican superstar Grace Jones, who headlines Saturday night, is a definite must-see. Other major acts include American hip-hop group Arrested Development, Canadian jazz ensemble BADBADNOTGOOD, and American indie-folk act Iron & Wine. Off stage, festival-goers can enjoy international food, markets, workshops and more.

Mannum Show
7 March
Country fun turned all the way up, this self-proclaimed “best ‘little’ country show” delivers showbags, sideshow rides, animal displays, baked goods that mean business and a main arena packed with action. It’s a full-day affair of tractors, fairy floss, prize pumpkins and proud local legends.

Riverland Food & Wine Festival
7 March
Head to the Riverland for a weekend made for good vibes and even better eats. Sip local wines, craft beers and cocktails, snack on epic street food and soak up live tunes as the Murray sparkles. With interactive tastings, chef demos and plenty of photo‑worthy moments, it’s the perfect spot to hang.

Streaky Sounds Music Festival
8 March
Set against the wild beauty of the Eyre Peninsula, Streaky Sounds Music Festival pairs coastal escape with a stacked Aussie line-up. Indie-rock favourites The Rubens headline alongside party legends The Potbelleez, reggae-rock crew Dojo Rise, Funk Me, Sunday Lemonade, Ripcord, Henry Smale, The Hunt Brothers and local hero Bonkers. Expect beach swims by day, sunset sets by night, and a laid-back crowd dancing under big country skies.

Sportsbet Adelaide Cup
9 March
Dust off your best fascinator and race along to Morphettville for the annual Adelaide Cup. Watch the main event as the horses and riders thunder down the track, then pivot straight into fashion moments and long-lunch energy, with live performances by The Jungle Giants and Shannon Noll.

Women’s Australian Open
12-15 March
The best of the best in women’s golf descend on Kooyonga Golf Club for four days of elite play, fierce competition and plenty of thrills. Watch stars like Minjee Lee, Grace Kim and Hannah Green tee off in high-stakes showdowns. Off the course, there’s live music, buzzing social zones, gourmet bites and drinks.

Alliance Française French Film Festival
18 March – 22 April
Ooh la la! This year’s program features 38 films from stars including Jodie Foster in her first French-language lead role for Vie Privée (A Private Life) and Angelina Jolie (Couture). Highlights include opening night’s Colours of Time and closing night’s Rodrigue in Love. Movies are mainly hosted at Palace Nova Eastend and Prospect, but there’s also a week in Victor Harbor (25 March – 1 April).

Dupang Festival
20-22 March
Dupang Festival is where culture meets adventure. Set on Ngarrindjeri Country at Long Point in the Coorong, it’s three days of live music, dance, storytelling and hands-on workshops – from weaving and carving to sunset smoking ceremonies. Camp by the water, catch fire-lit performances under the stars, and connect with Country in an unforgettable way.

Caltowie Chilled Out ‘n’ Fired Up
21 March
Head along to rural SA’s feel-good festival where mellow vibes meet fired-up live music. This year, local legends and interstate favourites Gyroscope, 19-Twenty and Dojo Rise headline, while Funk Me, The Fuss, Surviving Sharks, Loose Change, The Shadow Ministers, Witch Hunt, Destinezia and The Beautiful Bogan keep the party rolling.

Get your sunnies ready as the perfect beachside day party returns! Headlined by reggae‑psychedelic rock champs Ocean Alley, and backed by surf‑rock favourites Skegss, colourful psych pop crew Babe Rainbow, gritty garage trio The Grogans, breezy indie Mid Drift, fresh‑edged Le Shiv and dreamy sounds from Seaside, this Glenelg beach bash is all coastal vibes, good tunes and salty air dance‑offs.

Join this long-running celebration of global community, food, music and art at the Marion Cultural Centre. From dance and drumming to local crafts and kid-friendly fun, it’s a vibrant, feel-good festival bursting with laughs, good eats, market stalls and new experiences.

A Taste of The Hills Festival 2026
28-29 March
A Taste of The Hills Festival is basically a love letter to eating and drinking well. Spend the day grazing your way through Adelaide Hills wines, craft brews, spirits and seriously good local food, with live music setting the mood. It’s a roam-free, glass-in-hand kind of weekend – equal parts picnic, party and long lunch – where the only hard decision is what to taste next.

Riverbend Nationals 2026
28-29 March
Perfect for petrolheads, thrill-seekers and anyone chasing a high-octane day out with friends and family, the 2026 Riverbend Nationals roar back with enough engines and adrenaline to shake The Bend. Watch Top Fuel Dragsters and Nitro Funny cars take centre stage, pushing the limits as they thunder down the strip at over 500km/h. Beyond the speed there’s live music, food trucks, kids’ zones and festival vibes.

Thai Festival 2026
29 March
Thai food fans, this one’s for you. SA’s Thai Festival is back at West Beach’s Barratt Reserve with something for everyone – think floating lanterns, live music, dance, Muay Thai, fashion, and next-level street eats. There’s fruit carving, flower art, kids’ activities and a Thai beer garden for the grown-ups. Big culture, big flavours, big day out.
