From overtaking to U-turns, these are the rules South Australians get wrong most often. Test yourself before you drive this upcoming long weekend.

Long weekends in SA often mean road trips – but they’re also one of the riskier times on our roads.

South Australia Police (SAPOL) says long weekends and school holiday periods consistently bring higher traffic, longer travel distances and more serious crashes, especially on regional roads.

So far this year we’ve already seen 47 deaths and 370 serious injuries on SA roads.

Speaking after recent road losses, SAPOL Traffic Services Branch Inspector Mark Atkinson says the impact goes far beyond the statistics.

“These are not just numbers,” he says. “There are going to be empty seats at the dinner table.”

So before you head off, here’s a quick way to check how well you actually know the rules.
