Festivals, food and fun await, with vibrant arts, sparkling wines, country tunes, roaring superbikes and comic chaos across every corner of the state this month.

Australian Superbike Championship: Round 3

1-3 May

Throttle up – The Bend hosts Round 3 of the Australian Superbike Championship with edge-of-your-seat racing and plenty of trackside thrills. Expect elite riders pushing limits, nail-biting overtakes, and plenty of food, fan zones and family-friendly energy off-track.

1-31 May

Raise a glass to the Adelaide Hills this month as Chardonnay May takes over local cellar doors with tastings, long lunches and delicious pours. Follow the Chardonnay Trail, meet the makers and make a weekend of it.

Curious minds, this one’s for you! South Australia’s History Festival returns with more than 550 events including ghost crime tours, weaving workshops and comedy.

FLAME Festival

8-10 May

Head to the Copper Coast for a celebration of all things creativity, culture and community! Across three days head to Wallaroo for an evening of art, storytelling and fire sculptures; Kadina for a Chinese dumpling workshop; and Moonta to create your own Turkish lamp.

Tasting Australia

8-17 May

Tasting Australia 2026 serves up a stacked program of dining experiences, masterclasses and flavour-packed events across the state. From star chefs to local legends, it’s all about great produce, great company and unforgettable moments around the table – plus plenty of chances to go back for seconds. Highlights include Hotpot Express, chef collective Punk Royale and weekend lunches at Good Neighbour.

Port Adelaide’s streets, pubs and waterfront spaces come alive for one massive night of live music, with 40 acts across 10 venues. This free, all-ages festival is about discovering your next favourite artist – from interstate names like INKABEE and Charlie Needs Braces to local standouts including Ella Ion, LOLA and Druid Fluids.

Country Music Festival Port Augusta

13-27 May

Flinders Ranges Country Music Muster rolls into Port Augusta this month for two weeks of toe-tapping tunes. There’ll be live music across open-air stages and laidback local haunts, plus food, drinks and plenty of singalong moments.
